You have to evolve it WHILE ITS STILL YOUR BUDDY to count. Man, I hate games where you have to Google how to play them, because instructions unclear.
You’re supposed to be an Espeon, you shit.
For the Ripple In Time special research, it simply has two tasks: Walk with Eevee as your buddy for 10km, and Evolv e Eevee into Espeon during the day.
It doesn’t say to evolve the Eevee you walked 10km with during the day, OR to keep it as your buddy when you evolve it..... fuck this game. Now I have to go get MORE exercise I don’t wanna.

Oh shit, good to know! I am currently doing that research and I'm terrified of screwing it up. Stupid adorable Eevee...
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

I haven’t been able to log in for the last 4 months or so. I decided it was a sign and just haven’t tried to figure out why.

Instructions unclear pretty much defines what I remember of the PKGO experience. I never did learn for sure
whether you want to throw the Pokeball when the colored ring is biggest or smallest.

Yep, gotta keep it as your buddy, and you have to make sure it pops up that you got the second candy. Sometimes it will say walked over 10 km but it lags showing you the candy earned. Enjoy your next 10k walk! I maxed a second account last month. I’m done grinding out xp now.

TIL there are more ways for eevee to evolve besides jolteon, flareon, and vaporeon.
After they developed more pokémon after the original 150, I stopped laying attention. This was like 15 years ago now that I think about it, thanks for that trip down memory lane

I stopped playing one day last summer when I was super faded on my day off in LA.
I found a wild arcanine and was hopelessly following it around until I caught it. once it settled into the ball, I look up, and i’m about five feet away from the front door of a Police substation...during the rumors about it being created to spy on you and being you to areas of high surveillance.
I took that as a confirmation and deleted the app right then and there.

That was 2 1/4 years ago. It was so great and so short-lived...

There’s still a few more that haven’t been added to the game.

I’ve missed all three stages of Pokémon. First, it was just this Japanese cartoon that gave people seizures. Meh.
Then it died for years and came back as something for little kids, with toys and cards.
Then it died again for years and came ROARING back as the kids from Phase I and II were now adults and willing to play again, as long as it was on their smartphone and didn’t make them look like children :D
My son has like 5 distinct Pokemon games on his Nintendo DS. He can’t even tell me why they’re all different, either. This is business acumen.

You have to hit within the ring and you want it to be the smallest ring you can hit . You also want to throw curve balls if possible (put spin on them) and the color of the circle tells you the relative level of the P okemon you’re throwing your ball at (which affects the probability of catching them), ranging from green (easy, highly likely) to red (hard, less likely) .

Yeah, I understood the color telling the strength of the Pokemon, I just didn’t know the bit about the size of the ring

It took me quite a bit of trial and error to figure these things out. It really does need a lot more explanation.
